 What is a Christian Science Reading Room?A Reading Room, open to everyone, is a combination bookstore/library, run by the members of a local Christian Science church. There are books, tapes, CDs, and puzzles for sale like a bookstore and similar items to borrow like a library. Also, like a library, there is a quiet atmosphere for study. The attendant will be happy to answer any questions you may have or direct you to study resources about the Bible, Christian Science, and Mary Baker Eddy. Where is the Christian Science Reading Room in Creve Coeur? Our Reading Room is located just south of the intersection of Olive Blvd. and Ballas Road in the Plaza Shops in Creve Coeur. From I-270 take Olive Road east and at the second light, turn right (south) onto North New Ballas Road. Proceed for one-half block and turn right (west) into the Plaza Shops parking lot. The Reading Room is in the northwest corner of the shopping plaza at 741 North New Ballas Road. The Creve Coeur Reading Room is open from 9 am until 5 pm Monday through Friday, from 7pm until 9pm on Thursday evenings, and from 9 am until 3 pm on Saturdays. What is for sale at a Christian Science Reading Room? The Reading Room in Creve Coeur sells the Bible in many languages and translations, Mary Baker Eddy’s writings including Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, and the Pulitzer Prize-winning Christian Science Monitor newspaper. Also for sale are the weekly Sentinel and monthly Journal, in which students of Christian Science share how they apply what they are learning to everyday problems and situations. Inspirational CDs are also offered, and there are many items specifically designed to help children love and understand the Bible. Who can use a Christian Science Reading Room? Anyone!
